Palazzo della Torre is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous internationally, as it was the precursor of the double fermentation method: most of the grapes are vinified at harvest, while the remaining part is left to partially dry (appassimento). In January the wine is blended with the raisinated grapes, and a second fermentation begins. It then ages in second use French oak barriques for 15 months. A blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, this is an elegant, harmonious wine with considerable structure. Expect notes of vanilla, black pepper and cloves, with gentle nuances of raisined grapes. The palate is velvety, with soft tannins and a long and persistent finish. -

Domaine Antonin Guyon Corton Bressandes Grand Cru 2017 offers an exceptional range of Burgundies, mostly in the premier crus and the grand crus of the region. Corton is unique as it is the Côte de Beaune's only red grand cru appellation. This wine has a generous nose of juicy black fruit, cherries in particular. The palate is rich and full-bodied, offering vanilla, licorice, and an oak-spiciness from 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which were new. The concentration and broad tannin structure of this wine means it will continue to develop for the next 20 years. An excellent pairing for roasted meat, game, and most cheeses. -

The Uccelliera estate is located in the warm southern Castelnuovo dell’Abate part of the Montalcino zone. The vineyards range from 150 to 350 meters above sea level. Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is aged 24 months in a mix of French and Slavonian oak. The wine has aromas of black cherries, plums, and walnuts with undertones of cedar. The palate is dense and full-bodied, with rich tannins, and a complex finish. -

Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is a rich and elegant Brunello, both in structure and in olfactory expression. Brilliant ruby red with garnet-colored reflections, on the nose the aroma is sweet and fruity, the hints of fresh red fruit stand out, which combine perfectly with the more complex notes of licorice and pipe tobacco. Patty Green and Jim Anderson started Patricia Green Cellars in 2000 after walking away from a very successful winery that they had built up since its inception in 1993. As karma would have it they were offered the opportunity, out of almost nowhere, to purchase a winery and vineyard that were located in the area that would become to be known as the Ribbon Ridge AVA. The winery was built on the idea that there were great vineyards in Oregon that could produce uniquely excellent wines if people dedicated themselves to the farming and winemaking necessary to do so. Over many vintages that ideal expanded as experience was gained, the winery grew and the sophistication of the vision adapted to the times. The 2021 vintage is an unusual one where the high heat neither translated into dark nor high alcohol wines. Wines are particularly red fruited, ripe, supple and delicious at early ages in this vintage. Perfect for a bottling that values consumption at a youthful age.Winemaker notes:

The Vivanco winery and its incredible museum is located in Briones, La Rioja. Founded by Pedro Vivanco, a pioneer among Spanish winemakers, the estate is now managed by his sons, Rafael and Santiago. Rafael is the winemaker and is focused on producing wines exclusively from native grapes using traditional techniques. This Vivanco Crianza is made with 95% Tempranillo, 2% Maturana Tinta, and 3% Graciano, and aged in both French and American oak barrels for 16 months. Fresh and floral, expect red berry aromas with spicy notes on the nose, a well-balanced palate with juicy acidity and medium chalky tannins. -

Barolo Perno Riserva, it is the first and only one Barolo Riserva from Castello di Perno, a small parcel of 0.3 hectares in the CRU Perno always located in Monforte d'Alba which is producing only a total of 1100 bottles every year. This parcel is the oldest in Perno called "vigna della Croce". The vineyards have been planted in 1940 and the Nebbiolo is 100% Michet clone (not always easy to find 100% pure Michet in a single vineyard) and the vineyards are in front of Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto, thanks to this influence of mineral soil between limestone and sand, the beautiful exposition and the good altitude of 430 meters we obtain a Barolo with a plenty of elegance, freshness and aromaticity. The wines show generous, juicy fruit with a proper tannic core and plenty of the energy that is in short supply in 2017. Castello di Perno has a vineyard plot in the cru of Perno. With its almost 200 ha (494 acres) Perno is pushing the 'cru' concept a little, but the Castello di Perno plot, sitting on the crest of the hill, truly stands out. From it in 2017 a fantastic, vibrant Barolo with crunchy red fruit has been produced -
