Famille J. M. Cazes Pauillac is third wine of Chateau Lynch-Bages, a true baby Lynch-Bages. The wine is a perfect expression of Pauillac with complex flavors of tobacco, cedar, and dark berries. Created in 2009, this wine is made with grapes from younger vines, and aged in used oak barrels, offering a ready-to-drink style. A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, Pauillac 2018 is very concentrated, with high fine grained tannins and a long finish. Excellent quality! -

The fruit is sourced from the following crus: Bricco Ambrogio (Roddi village), Roere di Santa Maria (La Morra), Bussia (Monforte d’Alba). The emphasis on Roddi and La Morra help explain the airy style of the wine, a lighter style than wines coming from the villages of Barolo or Serralunga, for example. Gian Luca explains about the 2018 vintage, a relatively cool year: a vintage that gave us wines that are really charming and approachable when young; the wines are already expressive, fruity, aromatic and tannins smooth and soft.

Grown on the southern hills in clay soils, this Pinot is well rounded with oh-so juicy flavours of cherry and black Doris plum. L’Hospitalet de Gazin, the second wine of Château Gazin, has been produced since 1986 from the fruit of younger vines. It is an elegant, supple, charming wine, that can be enjoyed after just a few years in bottle. Expect lovely aromas of black plum, ripe cassis and cedar, and the palate was very smooth with a savory finish. -

Made from the oldest vines growing in ground made up of large stones lying on top of clay, Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard expresses the full character of the property’s old Merlot grapes which are the only variety to be used. These very old vines obviously have very low yields of 15 to 29 hectolitres per hectare.
The wine is aged for a very long time: 33 months in barrels including 18 months on fine lees. The resulting wine is smooth and elegant. It has perfect balance and lovely freshness. This lush, mouth-filling wine reveals a wide range of aromas and outstanding elegance.

Charmes-Chambertin is one of the eight Grands Crus of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the most northern of the great communes of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard of Charmes-Chambertin lies on an east-facing slope on a site that was formerly a field of grain (Charmes comes from “chaume,” meaning thatch). The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to one month, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 18 to 20 months before bottling. This wine is deeply colored, with an intense bouquet of black currants and other black and red berries. The mature wine often has aromas of musk or licorice. Made for aging, the wine will improve for 20 to 25 years in the bottle. Serve with elaborate and strongly flavored foods such as mutton, boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin, game or game pâté and strong cheeses. -

Part of Flagey-Echézeaux, to the south of Clos Vougeot, this Grand Cru vineyard is situated on the slopes facing east–southeast on chalky soil. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to one month, and then matured for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels before bottling. This powerful and delicate wine has intense red berry and spice aromas and flavors. With great length on the palate, this wine will develop favorably in the bottle for 15 to 20 years.
