Allegrini Palazzo della Torre Rosso Veronese 2021

Original price was: $22.99.Current price is: $19.97.
Palazzo della Torre is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous internationally, as it was the precursor of the double fermentation method: most of the grapes are vinified at harvest, while the remaining part is left to partially dry (appassimento). In January the wine is blended with the raisinated grapes, and a second fermentation begins. It then ages in second use French oak barriques for 15 months. A blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, this is an elegant, harmonious wine with considerable structure. Expect notes of vanilla, black pepper and cloves, with gentle nuances of raisined grapes. The palate is velvety, with soft tannins and a long and persistent finish.
  • Vibrant crimson hues, with complimenting aromas of raspberries, dark cherries, plums, cinnamon and cloves. Supple, elegant tannins and a fresh seam of acidity are beautifully balanced with a vibrant explosion of fruit on the palate. Juicy flavours of red and black fruits, and a hint of chocolate, dominate the lengthy finish.

On the Durban label there is a coat of arms with three “Ts.” This is the official coat of arms of the village of Beaumes-de-Venise. The modern day city was originally three villages (Aubune, Beaumes, and Saint Véran). The “T” is a tau which is also an old form of the cross. The three taus, or crosses, are for the protectors of the three villages, Sainte Anne, Saint Roch, and Saint Sébastian.
