The Jesuits, who founded Château Ksara introduced Carignan, a Spanish grape that has found global fame in the Southern Rhone, the Languedoc and California, to Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley in 1857. Since then, it has been the backbone of the wine industry and has been given profound expression by the Lebanese terroir. This wine is made from -60year-old vines, grown in the West Bekaa Valley, where the climate is continental, at 1,200 meters on stony clay and limestone soil. The Carignan is a hardy, long-ripening grape that delivers body, freshness, lush flavours and texture.The Carignan has a deep purple hue. On the nose, it offers intense red and black fruits with spice and garrigue aromas. The palate is fresh, full of blackcurrant, strawberries and plums fruit underpinned with spice, juniper and oregano. The finish is long and sustained. -

Zorzal Terroir Unico Malbec 2020 has a deep, shining red color with very mineral, with strong evidence of calcareous soils, such as chalk aromas. It is very fresh on entry, with great volume and texture. The tannins are somewhat edgy and the finish is a long one. -

Made in the Valpolicella Classica region from a blend using the traditional Veronese grapes: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. Medium intensity cherry red. Intense bouquet with ripe cherry aromas. Fresh with good acidity, soft and silky tannins. Cherries are the dominant flavour, with hints of vanilla. -

All batches of Bush Vine Grenache are crushed as separate parcels to either static pumpover fermenters or open top fermenters. The majority of batches are fully destemmed, however for some the stems are left on to contribute another flavour dimension. The wild yeasts present on the grape skins are allowed to initiate fermentation. Particular batches are selected to remain on skins post-fermentation. This extended maturation helps to contribute an even greater complexity and individuality to the wine. After draining and pressing off skins, all batches are racked into older American, French and Hungarian hogsheads for six months maturation. The fragrance is saturated with brooding plum red fruits, dark cherries and perfumed berries. This is a defined wine showing the richness and concentration of the vintage. The palate is richly textured, fleshy, round and supple, with a red juiciness that merges into velvety tannins.
