Manzanilla Papirusa
Aged following a biological ageing, under a veil of yeast called “flor” in the cool, humid, salty air of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a fishing town on the estuary of the Guadalquivir river. Bright yellow colour with golden reflections. This Manzanilla is laced with sea breeze scents and pleasant chamomile and flor aromas. Bone dry and light, fresh and crisp, with a hint of sea salt on the palate. Delicate and refreshingly acid with a lingering aftertaste. Papirusa means “elegant and beautiful”. It was the name of the doll that Emilio Lustau gave the daughter of Joaquín Burgos, first manager of Bodegas Lustau in the ’40s.Bone dry and light, fresh and crisp, with a hint of sea salt on the palate.

Charmes-Chambertin is one of the eight Grands Crus of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the most northern of the great communes of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard of Charmes-Chambertin lies on an east-facing slope on a site that was formerly a field of grain (Charmes comes from “chaume,” meaning thatch). The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to one month, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 18 to 20 months before bottling. This wine is deeply colored, with an intense bouquet of black currants and other black and red berries. The mature wine often has aromas of musk or licorice. Made for aging, the wine will improve for 20 to 25 years in the bottle. Made from the oldest vines growing in ground made up of large stones lying on top of clay, Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard expresses the full character of the property’s old Merlot grapes which are the only variety to be used. These very old vines obviously have very low yields of 15 to 29 hectolitres per hectare.
The wine is aged for a very long time: 33 months in barrels including 18 months on fine lees. The resulting wine is smooth and elegant. It has perfect balance and lovely freshness. This lush, mouth-filling wine reveals a wide range of aromas and outstanding elegance.
