Established in 1823, in the shadow of one of Japan's largest volcanic mountains Mt. Haku. With the blessing of this dormant goddess (namely, her naturally filtered water) they brew exquisite sake. A very enjoyable dry sake from Tengumai. Full expansive flavor with a great body and enjoyable mouth feel. Light umami on the palate. This is a wonderful sake to pair with food like Miso hotpot and Stewed dishes. -
The only white wine made by the Fernández family, Alejairén draws its name from the combination of its creator Alejandro and its grape variety Airén. Alejairén Crianza 2020 has an intense straw-yellow color. Clean and brilliant. On the nose it has balsamic and toasted notes, gentle hints of stone fruit and attractive touches of anise and lantana. On the palate the wine has a full, smooth mouth-feel but very fresh. A delicious lingering finish with notes of roasted almonds and stone fruit coming through. -

Salomon Undhof is an important, historic producer in the Kremstal region of Austria, producing world class Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines from the slopes above the Danube river. Zorzal Terroir Unico Malbec 2020 has a deep, shining red color with very mineral, with strong evidence of calcareous soils, such as chalk aromas. It is very fresh on entry, with great volume and texture. The tannins are somewhat edgy and the finish is a long one.
