The plot "La Mazière" stands north of the village, along the Route des Grands Crus and spreads over 2.2 hectares. Its name comes from the latin word MACERIA that refers to an enclosure wall made in dry masonry and to some extent, also refers to the ruins of stone houses. Bouchard Aine & Fils Fixin La Maziere 2020 has an elegant ruby red color. On the nose the wine has a very charming bouquet dominated by little fruits aromas : such as black cherry, blackberry and blueberry.

Kumeu River Village Chardonnay 2022

Kumeu River Village Chardonnay 2022 is made from grapes grown in Kumeu and Hawkes Bay. It was fermented in a mix of old French oak barriques (33%) and stainless steel tanks (67%). The barrel fermentation adds some richness but little oak flavor, while the tank fermentation allows the vibrant fruit to shine through.The wine has lively lime and lemon aromas, a flinty, mineral edge, and hints of fig and white peach. The 2022 Vintage was another good year, with Hawkes Bay fruit making up 55% of the final blend. The mid-palate is weighty with peachy ripeness and crisp acidity that gives the wine a refreshing, cleansing quality. This wine is enjoyable as an aperitif, and even better when paired with fish and shellfish.

Chateau La Gorce Medoc 2019

Château La Gorce is an organically farmed Left Bank Bordeaux estate, classified as a Cru Bourgeois. The château is located in the Médoc appellation, the furthest north appellation in Bordeaux, a few miles north of St. Estèphe. Sandwiched between the Gironde river and the Atlantic ocean, with gravel, clay and limestone soils, Médoc wines are concentrated and savoury.

The Cru Bourgeois classification is a well-respected, long-standing classification for Left Bank Bordeaux wines, usually made from a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon. Cru Bourgeois châteaux are typically considered one qualitative step below their Grand Cru Classé neighbors, but are well known for their exceptional value, frequently producing very affordable wines that can nonetheless easily improve for 15-20 years. The Cru Bourgeois classification is made every five years, and is based on a blind tasting by a professional panel as well as other criteria, ensuring quality.
