Tatenokawa was the first Sake Brewery in Yamagata who decided to brew exclusively Junmai Daiginjo class sake, and hope to continue to do so while providing their high quality merchandise at an affordable price. Nearly all of the rice they use to brew is locally grown Miyama Nishiki and Dewasansan. In 2014, ANA International picked this sake for their First Class and Business Class sake. Using the locally grown Dewasansan sake rice and only native Yamagata Kobo, Tatenokawa achieves an elegant sake with surprising complexity and energy. Relatively high acidity with a grapefruit peel-like aroma and flavor. Just the right amount of sweetness offers balance and leads every sip into a refreshing finish.

  • Barolo Perno Riserva, it is the first and only one Barolo Riserva from Castello di Perno, a small parcel of 0.3 hectares in the CRU Perno always located in Monforte d'Alba which is producing only a total of 1100 bottles every year. This parcel is the oldest in Perno called "vigna della Croce". The vineyards have been planted in 1940 and the Nebbiolo is 100% Michet clone (not always easy to find 100% pure Michet in a single vineyard) and the vineyards are in front of Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto, thanks to this influence of mineral soil between limestone and sand, the beautiful exposition and the good altitude of 430 meters we obtain a Barolo with a plenty of elegance, freshness and aromaticity. The wines show generous, juicy fruit with a proper tannic core and plenty of the energy that is in short supply in 2017. Castello di Perno has a vineyard plot in the cru of Perno. With its almost 200 ha (494 acres) Perno is pushing the 'cru' concept a little, but the Castello di Perno plot, sitting on the crest of the hill, truly stands out. From it in 2017 a fantastic, vibrant Barolo with crunchy red fruit has been produced

  • Vintage: Champagne Cristal 2015 relies on essence of its terroir, originating from vineyard plots under cultivation since 1845, following sustainable viticultural practices. This vintage reflects a distinctive identity deeply entrenched in the land, yet aspiring towards celestial heights. Winemaking: In the crafting of Cristal 2015, 25% of the wine undergoes oak aging, while the prevention of malolactic fermentation is deliberate to safeguard the fruit's luminous, fresh, and pure characteristics. The wine undergoes a six to seven-year sur lattes aging period, followed by an additional six to twelve months of post-disgorgement maturation. Tasting Notes: Cristal 2015 is a Champagne that engages the palate with its complexity and finesse. Its aromatic profile reveals nuances of yellow fruit, toasted almonds, and wheat from the Chardonnay, seamlessly integrated with the Pinot Noir's succulent red fruit notes. On the palate, the acidity is invigorating, evolving into a delicate tactile sensation, offering a silky texture with notes of candied citrus, spices and a salty mineral long finish. Food Pairing: Cristal 2015's exceptional equilibrium and finesse make it an ideal companion for a diverse array of foods. It harmonizes brilliantly with delicate seafood, such as oysters or sushi, accentuating its crisp freshness. Its silky texture complements dishes featuring creamy textures, such as lobster bisque or chicken in creamy sauces. For a contrast of flavors, savor it alongside aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano, which accentuates its depth and complexity.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2019

Original price was: $100.99.Current price is: $89.97.
An icon in the region, the Allegrini family has been a pivotal part of Valpolicella’s history since the 16th century. This long winemaking tradition, combined with grapes of exceptional quality (all Allegrini wines are produced from estate-grown fruit), has led to the brand’s success and sterling reputation. The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for around three to four months, brings intense aromas of undergrowth and dark fruits, such as cherries and blackberry jam. An hour in the decanter would allow this wine to further unfurl and reveal its beautiful bouquet, which also includes notes of dried violets, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Intense flavors, silky-smooth tannins, and a long, dry finish feature on the powerful palate, which is balanced by the elegance and finesse of a cooler vintage. Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses. This style of wine makes an excellent match for hearty dishes. Their distinctive flavor compliments exotic sweet and sour cuisine and is therefore also perfect with Asian and middle eastern dishes.

Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Old Vintage Library

Original price was: $959.99.Current price is: $839.97.
Cantine Bertani has been making wines in the Veneto region of Italy for more than 150 years. They have consistently strived to combine tradition and research to create wines of uncompromising quality with a distinct identity. Grapes are dried in traditional drying rooms, where they rest on racks for 99 days before the winemaking process begins. An intense red color with hints of garnet, this wine offers succulent red plums and morello cherries on the nose, as well as notes of tea leaves, licorice, and spices. The Bertani Amarone has been described as “larger than life.” This power is balanced by elegance on the dry palate, which showcases red berries sweetened by soft notes of spices. Eight years of ageing in Slavonian oak barrels in conjunction with one further year of ageing in bottle have further contributed to this wine’s complexity. This wine can be easily matched with red meat, game and mature cheese, but is also perfect as a vino da meditazione – a meditation wine.

Chateau Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classe 2006

Original price was: $709.99.Current price is: $659.97.
One single batch of Merlot, though of remarkably high quality, finally went into the blend, but it only represents 4% of the whole… It is the first time we have had so little. The Petit Verdot (4%) and the Cabernet Franc (2%) make up their usual proportions; they each bring added complexity that is difficult to define, but is most certainly a necessary contribution to the character of the wines of Château Margaux. The Cabernet Sauvignon therefore takes up almost all of the place: 90%! It brings to the 2006 an extraordinary aromatic finesse, a tannic richness that is second only to the 2005; and a particularly dense and tight-knit texture. The finish is very long, fresh and lively, a little bit firm, but already packed with flavour. 2006 is therefore a great Château Margaux vintage.

Chateau Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classe 2017

Original price was: $699.99.Current price is: $649.97.
The quality of Château Margaux 2017 comes close to its illustrious predecessors without pretending to rival the generosity of 2015 or the elegance of 2016. Nonetheless, it has a rightful place in the estate’s lineage of great vintages: it is profound, complex, intense and long. In some respects, it even surpasses our hopes following September’s rainfall and demonstrates yet again to what extent great terroirs are capable of transmitting all their best qualities into the wine. The initial tastings in the winemaking process offered a moment of astonishment. The Merlot batches are remarkable: the aromas are fruity and soft, a roundness on the palate and rich volume made it possible to include them in a proportion of 8% for the first wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon is always the heart and the framework for Château Margaux, accounting for 89% of the blend. Upon tasting, the tannins were perfectly ripe, which reassured us that our decision to wait a few more days before harvesting was the right choice. The wines’ structure remains a rare combination of power and refinement. Cabernet Franc (2%) and Petit Verdot (1%) round out the blend for this wine. Château Margaux represents 37% of the harvest.
