Numanthia is a subtle blend of grapes from more than 100 parcels of the finest terroirs offering unique balance, elegance and power. Numanthia’s style depends on the selection of exceptional vines, aged between 50 and 100 years old, ungrafted and non-irrigated. Year after year, their low yields deliver grapes of extreme concentration with intense fruit and structure. It has a ripe cherry color with ruby reflections. Numanthia 2017 is expressive and deep, with hints of red berries, smoky notes, garrigue aromas and a background of sweet spices aromas. On the palate the wine has flavors of black fruit such as blueberries and blackcurrants, notes of violet and hints of black pepper, cloves and a tobacco leaf generate complexity and length, surrounded by a good acidity. -

For centuries, the Schioppettino grapes were cultivated in Friulli-Venezia Giulia, in Italy. In the middle of the 19th century, with the advent of phylloxera, Schioppettino was almost completely destroyed. In 1970, Paolo and Dina Rapuzzi founded the winery Ronchi di Cialla and managed to find about 60 surviving vines of Schioppettino. They made new cuttings and managed, in the space of 2 years, to create a first wine estate of 3,500 vines that marked the rebirth of the Schioppettino. In the words of Nick Jackson MW: "Schioppettino is a paradoxical variety: intensely aromatic, medium-bodied, with a mere 12-12.5% alcohol, high acidity and a lingering, perfumed finish, it is also, in spite of its lightness, capable of very long aging." The 2017 vintage is made with 100% Schioppettino grapes, aged in French oak barriques for 14-18 months and in bottles for 30-36 months. According to the producer the wine has capacity to age and develop in the next 20-23 years. So buy 2 bottles: one to drink now and another one for aging! Ronchi Di Cialla Schioppettino Di Cialla 2017 has a balanced ruby red color with bright reflections. It has aromas of white pepper and small red fruits, currants and blackberries, intriguing balsamic and undergrowth (sous-bois) notes. -

Instead of the classic Niigata style of dry and short, they aim to create a “new” sake, centered on aroma, mellowness and deliciousness. A proprietary yeast lends herbs and acidity. While this is polished to 60% and using Yamagata rice, it’s more fascinating than your typical Ginjo. The nose is freshly expressed lemon skin oils. So fragrant! Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is aged 24 months in a mix of French and Slavonian oak. The wine has aromas of black cherries, plums, and walnuts with undertones of cedar. Yuki No Bosha Junmai Daiginjo "Cabin in the Snow" Saiya Brewery doesn't allow high demand speed their production. The sake they brew follows a strict discipline to fine quality. The brewers do all they can to insure a healthy and clean environment and level of strong, consistent effort in brewing. The composition of their sake doesn’t take on a strong aroma (known as uwadatsuka), instead it has a strong aftertaste, or fukumi. This achievement takes studied time, brewing at low temperatures without exposure to air. The result allows for the aromas of the yeast to blend beautifully into their sake.Earthy, rustic, elegant, fruity, crisp, peach, roasted sage, long & layered finish. The brewmaster (toji) for Saiya brewery has been recognized as a cherished craftsman by the Emperor of Japan.
