    Made to the same rigorous standards as the First Wine, from grapes grown in the same vineyard, La Dame de Montrose is the estate’s second label. Supple and silky Merlot generally predominates in the varietal mix. Its very pronounced red fruit aromas and flavours reflect another expression of the terroir in a distinctive style which is less elaborately complex than that of the First Wine.
    Consistently reliable and reaching maturity sooner, the wine was created in 1983 in tribute to Yvonne Charmolüe, who ran Château Montrose single-handedly from 1944 to 1960. Production varies from one year to another but accounts on average for 40 à 45% of the total production of the Montrose vineyard. Aged for 12 months in 30% new french oak barrels.

    Cave Caloz is a family run winery that was established three generations ago and whose wine production guarantees the health and nourishment of the land, whilst benevolently using natural and human resources. The grapes, which are harvested by hand and vinified in our cellar, produce vintages that bring joy and meaning to our profession. The winery was founded by Fernand, who built both the cellar and the family house in 1960. Color: Straw Aromas: honey and white flower. Palate:  Spiced lemon flavors with snappy acidity. Nicely textured and round with a tingle to finish.

Takeda Black Skull Tokubetsu Honjozo MNG is made to highlight the local rice, you’ll get giant aromas that change on every revisit. There’s some Ginjo fruit plus a rich caramel leaping from the glass due to the Honjozo (brewer’s alcohol) used to extract extra aroma and texture. Late on the finish, look for cocoa powder. Enjoy as an aperitif with creamy cow’s milk cheeses, pastas like Carbonara and Primavera, foie gras or pizza. Serve at any temperature.

The unwavering vision is to create pure expressions of variety and place.  Our four estate-owned vineyards, A-Grade Certified Organic and Biodynamic (ACO), are located in high altitude country of the Clare Valley, each site selected for its potential to produce great wine and planted by Grosset. Each is handpicked and hand pruned; each bunch of grapes harvested at optimum ripeness. Production is tiny. Single vineyard wines are the focus. The winemaking process is gentle and uncomplicated. Custodianship remains with Grosset Wines from grape growing to in-house bottling; authenticity is assured.   Delightful floral aromas with hints of lime juice and beeswax - though it's white flowers that dominate.     School friends Giambattista Cilia (C), Giusto Occhipinti (O) and Pinuccia Strano (S) began making wine for pleasure and ended up creating a company that would become one of the most well-known in Sicilia. They rented their parents’ lands and began harvesting, pressing grapes, and making wine. They continue to operate with this independence of spirit, doing largely without an oenologist and basing winemaking decisions on their considerable experience and intuition. COS is a lifelong project of expressing the terroir, passion, and culture of this part of Sicily in its truest form.
