Castello di Perno is an up-and-coming estate in Piedmont of which wine lovers will be hearing a lot more in years to come. The wines are made by one of the region’s top winemakers, Gian Luca Colombo, and the style is described as "neoclassical" by Nick Jackson MW; not a traditionalist, not a modernist producer, but a new classic style of Barolo. The 2019 vintage of Castello di Perno is 100% Nebbiolo, aged for 24 months in Austrian oak casks and 12 months in bottle. Expect aromas of dried flowers, truffles and cranberries. The balanced palate has high tight-grained tannins and complex earthy and herbal notes, with an elegant long finish. We had the honor of hosting Castello di Perno at 305 Wines and tasted a range of their wines. All highly recommended. -

Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is a high-quality red wine produced in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. It is made entirely from Sangiovese grapes, also known locally as Brunello, which are carefully handpicked and selected during harvest. In the glass, this wine has a deep ruby color with purple hues. On the nose, it has intense and complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum, with hints of spice, leather, and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with rich flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and vanilla, complemented by smooth tannins and a long, lingering finish. This wine is aged for 42 months in oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to its flavor profile. It is recommended to decant this wine before serving, and it pairs well with hearty meat dishes, such as roasted lamb or grilled steak. -
Casa Ferreirinha Vinha Grande Douro 2021 has a ruby red color. On the nose it has notes of plum, spice, resin and cedar, all very well integrated with subtle oak. It is a well balanced wine with firm, well-textured tannins and attractive acidity. Its finish is very long and harmonious. -
Casa Ferreirinha Planalto Reserva 2022 has aromas of white and tropical fruits with a hint of citrus and floral notes. Lively on the palate with a well-integrated acidity that adds excellent freshness leading into the harmonious finish. -

Carruades de Lafite 2021 has a bright red color. The wine is complex, with a ripe nose followed by blackberry and blackcurrant notes.. The tannins are powerful, but never aggressive. A wine that is waiting to open up in 4 to 5 years. -

The Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes are sourced from a selection of different plots in the “Finca El Estanque” vineyard, with a surface of 60 hectares (150 acres) that is owned by the winery, in the best terroir in Haro. Aging: aged for 24 months in American and French oak barrels. Refined in the bottle for 36 months before release. -
Caballo Loco Grand Cru Tinto Limari 2021 has an intense dark garnet color with violet hues. It has a complex nose, with classic Syrah notes such as black pepper, olives and black fruits. Good volume on the palate with a texture that fills the palate, with fine tannins and a long finish. -
