Rotlay is a parcel of vines within the larger Sonnenuhr vineyard, vinified separately for this bottling thanks to the unusual beauty and complexity of its wines. The Sonnenuhr (‘sundial’) vineyard itself is one of the most celebrated in the Mosel, and this precipitously steep part of it yields a wonderful example of the vineyard’s style in this cool corner of the Mosel: light but intensely flavored. 2020 was a warm vintage (the last in a trio of warm years) but with cooler weather at harvest. This ensured freshness and balance in the wines, which are remarkably easy to drink while maintaining all the tension and elegance typical of Mosel Riesling. The Rotlay in 2020 showcases the cool, understated style of Heinrichshof’s wines: delicate hints of spice, flowers and slatey mineral seduce rather than overwhelm the drinker. Additional complexity of flavor may be expected when aged for 4-5 years after the vintage. -

Les Arums de Lagrange Bordeaux Blanc 2020 has a pale yellow color with intense aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus and white peach. Le G de Chateau Guiraud 2022 is a dry white wine made from grapes harvested at their optimum maturity on a dedicated plot selection. It is aged for 6 months on lees, half in stainless steel vats and half in barrels previously used for one wine, for the classified 1st Growth in 1855. Le G de Chateau Guiraud 2022 has a pale yellow color. On the nose the wine has notes of passion fruit and pink grapefruit. -
The only white wine made by the Fernández family, Alejairén draws its name from the combination of its creator Alejandro and its grape variety Airén. Alejairén Crianza 2020 has an intense straw-yellow color. Clean and brilliant. On the nose it has balsamic and toasted notes, gentle hints of stone fruit and attractive touches of anise and lantana. On the palate the wine has a full, smooth mouth-feel but very fresh. A delicious lingering finish with notes of roasted almonds and stone fruit coming through. -

Domaine Huet is well known for the age worthy white wines made with Chenin Blanc. For many insiders, the argument over Vouvray’s greatest vineyard comes down to two sites: Le Mont and Clos du Bourg. Undisputably a grand cru vineyard, Le Mont enjoys a choice site on the Première Côte. With less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont yields young wines of intense minerality. With age, the wines develop great length and finesse. This wine has notes of white flowers, citrus fruit and apple with great tension on the palate and a long mineral finish. Can be aged for at least 10-15 years. -
