An icon in the region, the Allegrini family has been a pivotal part of Valpolicella’s history since the 16th century. This long winemaking tradition, combined with grapes of exceptional quality (all Allegrini wines are produced from estate-grown fruit), has led to the brand’s success and sterling reputation. The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for around three to four months, brings intense aromas of undergrowth and dark fruits, such as cherries and blackberry jam. An hour in the decanter would allow this wine to further unfurl and reveal its beautiful bouquet, which also includes notes of dried violets, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Intense flavors, silky-smooth tannins, and a long, dry finish feature on the powerful palate, which is balanced by the elegance and finesse of a cooler vintage. Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses. This style of wine makes an excellent match for hearty dishes. Tinto Pesquera, the Familia Fernández Rivera flagship property, is known for producing some of the most sought-after Tempranillos in the world, including Millenium Reserva, which is only made in select vintages. The grapes for Millenium are sourced from the Viña Alta vineyard, where Familia Fernández Rivera planted their first vines at the end of the 1960s and beginning of the 1970s. It is located at an altitude of over 800 metres. Millenium Tinto Pesquera Gran Reserva 2015 has a clean and bright with a very deep, black cherry color. On the nose the wine is full with fruit aromatics and subtle, well integrated oak. It has harmonious notes of ripe, black fruit, licorice and hints of coffee and spices. On the palate, Tinto Pequera has a full, fleshy and long with a lingering, round tannic structure. An elegant development on the palate with ripe fruit and roasted coffee beans coming through in the finish. This is a silky, elegant wine that aged well in French oak barrels. Great with all types of red or white meats. Also with game dishes and above all perfect with roast suckling lamb. It also goes very well with stews and pulses, as well as desserts, such as bitter chocolate or cheesecake. -

All the elements fall into place in a sumptuous, deep Barolo that screams with character. Beams of tannin punctuate the finish. Great-grandfather Giovanni Massolino founded the winery in 1896 and was the first to bring electricity and a steam-operated machine for harvesting grain to Serralunga d’Alba. Today, the estate is run by siblings Franco, Roberto and Paola. -

Made from the oldest vines growing in ground made up of large stones lying on top of clay, Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard expresses the full character of the property’s old Merlot grapes which are the only variety to be used. These very old vines obviously have very low yields of 15 to 29 hectolitres per hectare.
The wine is aged for a very long time: 33 months in barrels including 18 months on fine lees. The resulting wine is smooth and elegant. It has perfect balance and lovely freshness. This lush, mouth-filling wine reveals a wide range of aromas and outstanding elegance.

The very first reference to « Clos des Lambrays » traces back to the fourteenth century. Archives of the Abbey of Cîteaux reveal its founding around 1365. An engraved milestone, still in its original location, commemorates the founding. The Domaine des Lambrays Clos Des Lambrays Grand Cru 2021 offers aromas of dark cherries, ripe plums, and blackberries with hints of violets, forest floor, and graphite.
