Azienda Agricola COS

School friends Giambattista Cilia (C), Giusto Occhipinti (O) and Pinuccia Strano (S) began making wine for pleasure and ended up creating a company that would become one of the most well-known in Sicilia. They rented their parents’ lands and began harvesting, pressing grapes, and making wine. They continue to operate with this independence of spirit, doing largely without an oenologist and basing winemaking decisions on their considerable experience and intuition. COS is a lifelong project of expressing the terroir, passion, and culture of this part of Sicily in its truest form.

Les Arums de Lagrange Bordeaux Blanc 2020

By |August 4, 2023|Categories: , , , |

Les Arums de Lagrange Bordeaux Blanc 2020 has a pale yellow color with intense aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus and white peach. The attack is lively, with a generous midpalate, and a pleasant roundness in the mouth, thanks to the ageing on lees and the 17% of Sémillon that was especially good in 2020. Tangy and beautifully balanced, this wine is ready to drink for those who enjoy fresh fruit sensations. It should continue to delight our palates up until 2026.

Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Bourgogne Blanc Les Charmes 2021

By |August 10, 2022|Categories: , , , , |

This cuvée is made from grapes located in the Macôn region in southern Burgundy. The terroir "les Charmes" is a terroir located in the east of the appellation.

This cuvée comes from a blend between some wine from 60 % Maconnais in the area of Lugny and 40% Montagny in the cote Chalonnaise. The wines from Lugny with the limestone give some freshness and some minerality of structure; we can find some aromas of citrus, grapefruit and white roses. The wines from Montagny give some note of ripe pear and peach. In the mouth, the wine is always fresh, young at heart, frisky, alluring, and rich in spicy back-flavours.

Izumo Fuji Yamadanishiki 50 Junmai Ginjo

By |March 22, 2022|Categories: , , , |Tags: , |

Founded in 1939, the Fuji brewery is managed by the 3rd generation Imaoka family in the town of Izumo. The town is famous for its shrine, Izumo Taisha, built in the 8th century. This shrine is regarded as the oldest and most important shrine in all of Japan. In its name, Izumo Fuji sake pays tribute to both this shrine and to Mt. Fuji, the most loved and revered symbol of Japan. The Imaoka family brews using old school and traditional methods without modern machines. They do everything by hand: steaming using an old-fashioned Japanese steamer, koji making, and pressing by fune press, or wooden vat, a very gentle method.

It shows pineapple, candied sugar, subtle pear on the nose. On the palate it is juicy, soft and melting.

Born Gold Muroka Junmai Daiginjo is a premium Japanese sake produced by the Katoukichibee Brewery, located in the Fukui Prefecture in Japan. It is made using the traditional brewing method and only the finest ingredients, including high-quality rice, water, yeast, and koji. Born Gold Muroka Junmai Daiginjo is made using Yamada Nishiki rice, which is considered one of the best sake rice varieties in Japan. The rice is polished to a ratio of 50%, which allows for a rich and complex flavor profile with a smooth, clean finish. Muroka is a style of sake that does not pass through activated carbon filtration. This allows for a deeper and richer taste profile, with more body and flavor. The sake is characterized by a delicate aroma with notes of apple and pear, and a subtle sweetness with a hint of umami. Overall, Born Gold Muroka Junmai Daiginjo is a highly sought-after sake that is often served as a special occasion drink or paired with fine cuisine. It pairs well with a variety of Japanese cuisine, particularly rich and flavorful dishes. The unique unfiltered nature and golden leaf design add to its appeal as a premium sake.
