Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Demi-Sec 2019

Original price was: $49.99.Current price is: $39.97.
Domaine Huet is well known for the age worthy white wines made with Chenin Blanc. For many insiders, the argument over Vouvray’s greatest vineyard comes down to two sites: Le Mont and Clos du Bourg. Undisputably a grand cru vineyard, Le Mont enjoys a choice site on the Première Côte. With less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont yields young wines of intense minerality. With age, the wines develop great length and finesse. This wine has notes of white flowers, citrus fruit and apple with great tension on the palate and a long mineral finish. Can be aged for at least 10-15 years.

The outstanding weather in 2015 resulted in rich, fruity wines with great balance and excellent structure. Made from very ripe fruit, they have a perfect harmony and a remarkable underlying softness. Powerful Cabernets dominate the blend. Rich, fleshy and dense, they harmonise with the well-structured Merlots. The Petits Verdots are dark and spicy, and bring a touch of complexity to the wine. 1 Bottle 750ml, 1 Magnum, 1 Corkscrew made from recycled barrel staves

  • The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon is named after the unique cigar-shaped strip of rich terra rossa soil that defines the famous Coonawarra wine region. It is a contemporary medium to full bodied wine with rich fruit characters and soft round tannins, making it one of our most popular fine wines.
Deep red to crimson in colour. A perfumed wine, displaying spice notes, lavender and violets, with fruit aromatics of warm strawberries, blackberries, and the quintessential note of sea-spray that the region is known for. Peppery, fresh and alive with youthful tannins, the moderate to long palate has intense red-purple cassis fruit. A delicious wine with all the hallmarks of Coonawarra Cabernet.

    Massolino Barolo Rionda Riserva 2014

Original price was: $199.97.Current price is: $179.97.

    Massolino Barolo Rionda Riserva 2014

Barolo Vigna Rionda is one of the most representative wines of Serralunga d’Alba. Powerful and structured on the palate, but with an array of elegant, delicate aromatics.

    98 points - Vinous

The 2014 Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda is a stunning wine. Sweet, perfumed and deep, the 2014 is off-the-charts great. Dark red and purplish berry fruit, mint, lavender, spice and hard candy infuse the 2014 with striking layers of nuance. But what really impresses about the 2014 is its depth and huge vertical build. All the elements fall into place in a sumptuous, deep Barolo that screams with character. Beams of tannin punctuate the finish. Massolino's 2014 is one of the greatest Vigna Riondas I have ever tasted. (AG) 98+ About the producer The Massolino family has deep roots in the Langhe. Great-grandfather Giovanni Massolino founded the winery in 1896 and was the first to bring electricity and a steam-operated machine for harvesting grain to Serralunga d’Alba. Grandfather Giuseppe was one of the founders of the local winegrowers’ consortium in 1934 and father Giovanni bought the first single vineyard, Parafada. Today, the estate is run by siblings Franco, Roberto and Paola.
  • Briccolina was the pioneer vineyard for our biodynamic approach and is now the only Barolo cru granted with the Demeter certification. It is a vineyard-garden, entirely worked by hand. It undergoes very long macerations during vinification.

Founded in 1849, the Tajima Brewery is managed by the 6th generation of the family. The brewery specializes in the production of yamahai sake. The traditional yamahai method of brewing sake takes 3 times longer than modern methods, but it gives the sake an exceptionally layered and complex flavor. The Tajima family named their sake Fuku Chitose to express their wish that their sake will always bring happiness to those who drink it. Fuku means “happiness” while chitose means “forever”.

Tasting Note: Savory aromas of pumpkin and spices with complex earthy flavors. The finish is dry and long lasting.

Food Pairing: Serve at room temperature or warmed with slow-cooked pork belly, braised short rib, and nutty cheese.

  • Tinto Pesquera, the Familia Fernández Rivera flagship property, is known for producing some of the most sought-after Tempranillos in the world, including Millenium Reserva, which is only made in select vintages.  The grapes for Millenium are sourced from the Viña Alta vineyard, where Familia Fernández Rivera planted their first vines at the end of the 1960s and beginning of the 1970s. It is located at an altitude of over 800 metres. Millenium Tinto Pesquera Gran Reserva 2015 has a clean and bright with a very deep, black cherry color. On the nose the wine is full with fruit aromatics and subtle, well integrated oak. It has harmonious notes of ripe, black fruit, licorice and hints of coffee and spices. On the palate, Tinto Pequera has a full, fleshy and long with a lingering, round tannic structure. An elegant development on the palate with ripe fruit and roasted coffee beans coming through in the finish. This is a silky, elegant wine that aged well in French oak barrels. Great with all types of red or white meats. Also with game dishes and above all perfect with roast suckling lamb. It also goes very well with stews and pulses, as well as desserts, such as bitter chocolate or cheesecake.

    Champagne Chartogne-Taillet Rose Brut

Original price was: $89.99.Current price is: $79.97.
Champagne Chartogne-Taillet Rose Brut is a blended Champagne that offers two distinct and successive taste profiles. This wine first enrobes the mouth with a mellow texture, then is long on the palate, leaving a delicate and precise consistency. Le Rosé is a blended Champagne composed of Chardonnay, and red grape varieties (mostly Pinot Noir). The blended red wine comes from one of two plots recognised for the quality of their red-wine grapes. In certain years, from the Orizeaux plot, and since 2017, from the Les Fontaines plot in Saint Thierry. Le Rosé is an exception among the house's wines. It requires more varied oenological work than our single-vineyard Champagnes do. The effect of this addition of red wine to white wine necessitates specific decisions to avoid excess opulence, fruitiness or tannicity.
  • Destemming, 48 hours cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation with maceration of 25 days at controlled temperature. Aged 14 month in Tonneaux. Before bottling, the wine does a little passage in concrete and then refines at least 6 months in bottle.

    Chateau Montrose 2020

Original price was: $239.99.Current price is: $211.97.

    Chateau Montrose 2020

The result of rigorous selection at each stage of production, in both the vineyard and the winery, this great, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon wine is typical of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Structured and tannic but with all the elegance and refinement of a Grand Cru Classé, with time it develops a delicate and complex bouquet. The wines have considerable ageing potential and are exceptionally long-lived. Matured for 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels, the premium wine accounts from 35 to 40% of the total production of Château Montrose.

    Wine Advocate - 100 points

"Surpassing the 2019 and rivaling the 2016 as this estate's finest vintage of the last few decades, the 2020 Montrose is a monument in the making. Wafting from the glass with aromas of violets, dark berries, licorice, loamy soil, black truffle and subtle spices, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with a seamless, elegantly muscular profile, terrific purity and energy, beautifully powdery tannins and a long, resonant finish. It checks in at 13.7% alcohol, the same as the superb 2009, but it is even deeper, more vibrant and more complex than the 2009. This will be worth a special effort to seek out and only confirms Montrose's status as one of the contemporary Médoc's leading estates and a de facto first growth."

    About Chateau Montrose

Château Montrose, a prestigious wine estate situated in the renowned St. Estéphe appellation, is widely recognized as one of the region's premier properties. It stands as a producer of remarkable wines known for their exceptional longevity within the Médoc. From 1962 until 2006, Montrose was under the ownership of Jean-Louis Charmolue before being acquired by Martin and Olivier Bouygues, distinguished proprietors of the eponymous construction firm Bouygues. Montrose's wines are carefully crafted using a blend primarily composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Following meticulous production, the wines mature for 18 months in oak barriques, with approximately 30% of the barrels being new. Traditionally, Montrose wines exhibit a profound color, austere character, and impressive power in their youth. However, they possess the extraordinary ability to age gracefully, embodying the quintessential characteristics of St. Estèphe clarets once fully matured. Classified as a 2ème Cru Classé, Château Montrose continues to exemplify excellence in winemaking and stands as a benchmark for the appellation.
