    M. Chapoutier La Bernardine Blanc Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2021

Original price was: $87.99.Current price is: $69.97.
"La Bernardine" is the name of the house, sitting in the middle of the vineyards, which was bought by Michel’s grandfather. M. Chapoutier La Bernardine Blanc Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2021 has golden, yellow and brilliant in color with notes of vine blossom and lily in the nose.  The palate well-balance and fresh with flavors of candied citrus.
  • Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
  • Gris is a french name to describe the color of a light rose wine. A blend of 90% Grenche and 10% Carignan. A delicate nose with grapefruit and white peach notes. Fresh and soft palate with a beautiful balance and finish. Perfect as an aperitif, with grilled meat or fish and Asian cuisine. Made from pale-skinned Grenache Gris from 10 to 20 year-old vines and 10% Carignan, "direct press" method is used to create a very pale rosé; grapes are pressed slowly and the juice is run-off without time in contact with the skins.
  • Les Perrières is 2.5 acres in size and is situated on the 'back side of the rock' with a sloping southeastern exposure just above the Le Clos parcel. The soil, which is derived from alluvial deposits, consists of a mix of deep silt and clay containing few stones. The subsoil features streaks of limestone and limestone marls, while the top layers, which are moderate in depth, are littered with stones on the surface. The vines have an average age of 35 years old. The wine is fermented in oak barrels before further barrel maturation, a part of it on lees. This Pouilly-Fuissé opens with creamy honeysuckle on the nose. A generous mouthfeel complements a nice ripeness and intense richness with notes of gingerbread and flowers. The wine is ample, smooth and well balanced, with a vivid, spicy finish. With age, it will gain in richness and fully reveal itself.
  • Atop the hierarchy of Beaujolais Crus are Moulin-à-Vent and Morgon, with notable ageing potential. Morgon is robust and structured and can mature for a minimum 5-20 years. Purchased by Maison Louis Jadot in 2001, this south- to southeast-facing vineyard is situated on the slopes over the village of Villié Morgon. It covers 87.5 acres of the Morgon appellation, one of the 10 Crus of Beaujolais. This wine is vinified in vats for 10 to 20 days and then matured in oak barrels before bottling. Very deep in color, this wine - blend of three single vineyards (Bellevue, Côte du Py & Roche noire) - shows a brilliant and large aromatic palette (spices, ripen black fruit). On the palate, the tannins are still a bit firm - which indicates the potential of ageing – and they are well balanced by a great tension. A perfect partner for charcuterie, pasta in a rich cream sauce, pizza and pretty much any meat. Wine & Spirits | 92 points: "Cool and lithe, this earthy Morgon has flavors of stewed plums and black currants, held by pointedly brisk tannins that have the chew of blueberry skins. It's a powerful gamay, with a scent one panelist called out as Himalayan kush - and offers a classic companion to charcuterie."
