Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987. The vineyards are densely planted and farmed organically “sans certification” while the aim in the cellar is for balance and clear expression of terroir.The wine shows aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and purple flowers. The palate is rich with ripe fruit and medium weight with bright acidity and fine tannins. Aging in up to 25% new Burgundian pièce brings notes of vanilla, toast, and baking spices. -

Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso 2020 "Testamatta," meaning "crazy-head" in Italian, perfectly reflects the creative and passionate nature of winemaker Bibi Graetz. This Supertuscan wine highlights the purity, minerality, and transparency of Sangiovese from old vines. The grapes for the 2020 vintage are hand-picked and undergo rigorous selection in both the vineyard and winery. Fermentation is done with natural and indigenous yeasts in open-top barriques for smaller parcels and larger casks or stainless steel tanks for larger plots, with frequent manual punch-downs and pump-overs. After 7-10 days of maceration, the wine is aged for 20 months in old barriques and 50hl casks. Made from the oldest vines growing in ground made up of large stones lying on top of clay, Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard expresses the full character of the property’s old Merlot grapes which are the only variety to be used. These very old vines obviously have very low yields of 15 to 29 hectolitres per hectare.
The wine is aged for a very long time: 33 months in barrels including 18 months on fine lees. The resulting wine is smooth and elegant. It has perfect balance and lovely freshness. This lush, mouth-filling wine reveals a wide range of aromas and outstanding elegance.
