Château Angélus Tempo d'Angélus 2023 Bordeaux AOC
Tempo d'Angélus is the entry-level wine from Château Angélus, one of the most iconic estates in Saint-Émilion. The family — now in its eighth generation under Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal — has been at Angélus since 1782. Tempo is made from parcels on clay-limestone soils in Castillon, just outside Saint-Émilion, vinified in the estate's dedicated Chai Carillon facility with the same team and attention that goes into the Grand Vin. The 2023 blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Red cherries, red berries, and a hint of violet on the nose, with subtle spice from the Cabernet Franc. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, and silky — not a heavyweight, but well-structured and balanced. Best from 2026, but approachable now with decanting. The Angélus name at a fraction of the price.
Pair with roast duck, lamb chops, mushroom risotto, or soft cheeses.
