Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Bourgogne Blanc 2023 is a Chardonnay produced from vineyards around the Chablis area, offering much of the freshness and mineral character associated with northern Burgundy at the more approachable Bourgogne level.
Lemon, green apple and pear are joined by white peach, delicate flowers and subtle mineral notes. The palate is fresh and balanced, with bright acidity, a lightly rounded texture and a clean, precise finish.
Vinification primarily in stainless steel keeps the wine focused on fruit and freshness rather than oak, allowing the cool-climate character of the Chardonnay and the limestone-influenced soils to remain clearly expressed.
I find this a very useful Burgundy Chardonnay for customers who enjoy the freshness of Chablis but want something a little rounder and immediately approachable. It has enough texture to work well with food while remaining crisp and easy to drink.
Food Pairing: Pair with oysters, shrimp, grilled or roasted fish, roast chicken, sushi, salads, fresh cheeses, or light pasta dishes.
Serve around 48–52°F.
