Roubaix Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a very limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, made in fewer than 100 cases.

Blackberry, black cherry and raspberry are joined by baking spice, dark chocolate, cedar and subtle earthy notes. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe fruit, balanced acidity and fine-grained tannins that carry through to a long, polished finish.

French oak adds spice and texture without hiding the fruit, while Rutherford’s gravelly soils contribute the fine, dusty tannin character long associated with Cabernet Sauvignon from this part of Napa Valley.

What I find particularly appealing here is the balance between concentration and refinement. The 2021 has plenty of ripe Napa fruit, but the tannins are well defined and the acidity keeps the wine fresh. Its extremely small production also makes it an interesting choice for customers looking beyond the better-known Napa Cabernet labels.

Food Pairing: Pair with grilled ribeye, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, lamb chops, venison, roasted mushrooms, or aged hard cheeses.

Serve around 60–64°F. If drinking now, decant for approximately 45–60 minutes.
