Roland Lavantureux Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume 2023 comes from one of Chablis’ most recognized Premier Cru vineyards, situated close to the northern end of the Grand Cru slope.

The wine combines the naturally generous character of Fourchaume with the freshness and mineral definition of Chablis. Pear, ripe apple and lemon are joined by white flowers, wet stone and subtle saline notes. The palate has more breadth than a village Chablis, with a rounded texture balanced by lively acidity and a long, precise finish.

Partial barrel aging adds depth and texture without taking attention away from the Chardonnay or the limestone character of the site.

Fourchaume is a useful choice for customers who enjoy the freshness of Chablis but want a wine with greater volume, complexity and aging potential. The domaine recommends giving the wine several years in bottle, although the 2023 is already expressive.

Food Pairing: Pair with oysters, scallops, lobster, grilled or roasted fish, roast chicken with cream sauce, gougères, or aged goat cheese.
