The 2024 Roc Breïa Mâcon-Villages is a white Burgundy that challenges everything you think you know about Mâcon. Made by Théo Dancer — heir to the legendary Chassagne-Montrachet domaine of Vincent Dancer.
This Chardonnay comes from a single, contiguous 10-hectare plot in Bray, one of the coolest, highest-altitude villages in the Mâconnais at 350 meters elevation. Old vines between 40 and 70 years old grow on limestone soils with gray marl, yielding just 35–40 hL/ha for exceptional concentration. In the cellar, whole-cluster pressing, native fermentation in neutral 350 and 456L barrels, full malolactic, extended lees aging, and gravity bottling without fining or filtration produce a wine of rare texture and precision for the appellation.
The result is a Mâcon with the depth and seriousness of a village-level Côte de Beaune — fresh, mineral, and built to age — at a fraction of the price.
