Paul Achs Zweigelt 2022 comes from Burgenland in eastern Austria, where Paul Achs has built a reputation for biodynamic farming and precise, terroir-driven red wines.

The wine opens with blackberry, plum and sour cherry, followed by subtle notes of dark chocolate, pepper and gentle spice. The palate is dry and fresh, with lively acidity, rounded tannins and a savory finish that keeps the ripe fruit in balance.

Zweigelt can sometimes lean toward simple fruitiness, but Paul Achs gives the variety more definition through careful farming and restrained use of older oak. The result is an Austrian red that remains easy to drink while showing enough structure and freshness for the table.
