Guy Breton Côte de Brouilly 2023 comes from Gamay grown on the lower slopes of the Côte de Brouilly, one of the ten crus of Beaujolais.

Dark cherry, blackberry and blueberry lead the aromatic profile, followed by violet, pepper and subtle earthy notes. The palate has more structure than many of Breton’s lighter cuvées, yet the tannins remain fine and silky, supported by fresh acidity and a distinctly mineral finish.

Côte de Brouilly brings a slightly darker and firmer expression of Gamay, while Breton’s gentle winemaking keeps the wine energetic rather than heavy. The combination makes this an excellent introduction to the more structured side of cru Beaujolais.

It is already very enjoyable, but the freshness and underlying structure should also allow the wine to develop further over the next several years.

Food Pairing: Pair with roast chicken, duck, pork tenderloin, charcuterie, grilled sausages, mushroom dishes, lentils, or semi-firm cheeses.

Serve slightly cool, around 56–60°F.
