Gérard Bertrand Clos du Temple Rosé 2021 — AOP Languedoc Cabrières
One of the most celebrated rosés in the world, Clos du Temple comes from 12 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines in Cabrières, a historic terroir in the Languedoc long considered the birthplace of rosé wine. The blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier is cold-pressed and aged 6 to 8 months in new French oak on fine lees — a process more reminiscent of white Burgundy than Provence rosé. The 2021 earned 96 points from Decanter and 97 from Falstaff. Pale salmon in the glass, with aromas of white peach, apricot, rose, and garrigue, leading to a full-bodied, creamy palate with bright acidity and a long mineral finish. A serious wine for serious occasions.
