Flanagan Beauty of Three Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a North Coast California Cabernet that combines ripe fruit with a polished texture and a more restrained, savory style.

Blackberry, black currant, plum and black cherry lead the aromatic profile, joined by violet, cedar, subtle tobacco and hints of dried herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with generous dark fruit, balanced acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins that carry through to a savory finish.

The North Coast appellation allows Flanagan to work with fruit from across this large and diverse California wine region, creating a Cabernet focused on balance, accessibility and consistency rather than the character of a single vineyard or smaller appellation.

I find this a very approachable California Cabernet. There is enough ripe fruit and concentration to satisfy customers looking for richness, but the wine also has freshness, savory complexity and a tannic structure that keeps it from feeling heavy. At this stage, the 2020 is drinking well and should continue to develop over the next several years.
