Dunn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 offers a particularly interesting expression of this legendary Napa producer. In 2022, the fruit for the Napa Valley bottling came entirely from Dunn’s Howell Mountain vineyards, giving the wine mountain character while preserving the more approachable style traditionally associated with this cuvée.

Blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry lead the aromatic profile, followed by graphite, black licorice, cedar and subtle forest-floor notes. The palate is concentrated but remarkably composed, with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity giving definition to the ripe dark fruit.

Dunn is known for Cabernet Sauvignon with structure and longevity, yet the 2022 Napa Valley bottling is notably supple for the estate. It has the depth and balance to develop for many years, but the tannins are already polished enough to make the wine enjoyable with sufficient air.

For collectors who admire Dunn but want something more accessible in its youth than the Howell Mountain bottling, this is an especially compelling vintage.
