Donnafugata Sherazade Nero d’Avola 2025 is a fresh and approachable expression of Sicily’s signature red grape, made in a style that emphasizes fruit, freshness and soft tannins.

Red cherry, raspberry and plum are joined by violet, subtle Mediterranean herbs and gentle spice. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with lively acidity, soft tannins and a clean, fruit-driven finish.

Sherazade shows a lighter side of Nero d’Avola. Rather than emphasizing weight and concentration, the wine focuses on fragrance and freshness, making it particularly versatile and easy to enjoy slightly chilled.

I like this style because it shows how flexible Nero d’Avola can be. There is enough ripe fruit to make the wine immediately appealing, but the freshness and soft tannins keep it lively rather than heavy.
