Château Lascombes is a Second Growth estate in Margaux with 120 hectares under vine, making it one of the largest classified properties in the appellation. The 2016 is one of its finest recent vintages, produced in a year that Margaux scored 97 points from Robert Parker. The wine shows cassis, candied violets, smoked earth, tobacco, and pencil lead, with medium to full body, fine-grained tannins, and excellent depth and precision. More elegant and composed than earlier Lascombes vintages, with 25 to 30 years of aging potential. Rated 94 to 95 points across multiple critics. Drinking well now, but built to go further.
