Château Cantenac Brown Margaux 1996 shows classic mature Left Bank elegance, with aromas of blackcurrant, dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, vanilla and subtle earthy notes. The palate is dry, medium-bodied and balanced, with softened tannins, fresh acidity and a gentle, savoury finish. Refined rather than powerful, it is drinking well now and would pair beautifully with roast lamb or beef tenderloin.
