Charles Heidsieck Millésime Brut La Collection Crayères 1985 is a rare library release from the Maison’s historic chalk cellars, blending 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

Mirabelle plum, dried apricot and candied citrus are joined by hazelnut, chestnut, brioche, cocoa, honey and warm spice. The palate is mature and generous, yet remarkably lively, with fine bubbles, fresh acidity and a subtle saline character carrying through the long finish.

The wine was placed in the cellars in 1986 and disgorged only in 2021, giving it more than three decades of extended lees aging. That long maturation has brought extraordinary complexity while preserving an unexpected sense of freshness.

Food Pairing: Pair with foie gras, lobster, roasted turbot, truffle dishes, roast poultry, aged Comté, or simply enjoy it on its own as the centerpiece of the evening.

Serve around 50–54°F. Open carefully and allow the wine a few minutes in the glass rather than serving it too cold.
