From Gualtallary, Tupungato, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard River Malbec 2022 is a single-parcel Malbec grown at approximately 4,482 feet elevation in a former riverbed covered with oval white stones and calcium carbonate. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet, lavender, graphite, white pepper, dried herbs, and crushed stone lead to a full-bodied palate with firm mineral tannins, fresh acidity, dark fruit concentration, and a long savory finish. This high-altitude Argentine Malbec shows the stony structure and site expression associated with the Adrianna Vineyard’s River parcel.
