Grapes must freeze naturally on the vine at a minimum of 17°F, concentrating sugars and acidity to extraordinary levels. Dr. Loosen's estate has been in the same family for over 200 years, with ungrafted vines averaging 60 years old on steep Mosel slate. The 2021 is vibrant and intensely sweet, with honey, apricot, peach, pear, and white chocolate, balanced by a laser-sharp, racy acidity that keeps it lifted and fresh. Rated 95 points Wine and Spirits. Drinks well now and will age for decades.
