Domaine Armelle et Bernard Rion is a producer in Vosne-Romanée, dating back to the 19th century, run by  Bernard and Armelle  since 1973. They are also known for their truffle products.

Their Marsannay  is made with 100% destemmed Pinot Noir from the En Sampagnyclimat in the south of the appellation. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (30% new) for 12-15 months, adding structure and complexity.

What to expect: Marsannay typically produces intense wines, with a powerful structure and meaty/savory finish. This is a generous yet balanced Marsannay from the warm and juicy 2022 vintage. On the nose there are ripe red cherries, and wild blackberries, licorice and toast, and the palate has a fresh and supple mouthfeel with a long elegant finish. 

Try it with a charcuterie plate or truffle pizza.
