Château Mouton Rothschild 2014 — Pauillac, 1er Grand Cru Classé
One of the five First Growths of Bordeaux, and arguably the most individual of them all — known for its signature "Mouton spice": dark fruit, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and a richness that is distinctly Pauillac. The 2014 marks a turning point at the estate: winemaker Philippe Dhalluin began harvesting 48 hours earlier from this vintage, producing fully ripe grapes with greater freshness and energy. The result is a more precise, tensile Mouton. 95 points Wine Advocate.
Deep and concentrated on the nose with blackcurrant, cassis, dark cherry, and a mineral graphite backbone. Full-bodied with creamy, polished tannins and extraordinary length. Serious cellar candidate — best from 2025 onward but already showing beautifully.
Pair with lamb, beef tenderloin, or enjoy on its own with time to breathe.
