Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2021 is a distinctive expression of Trebbiano from one of Abruzzo’s most important artisanal producers.
The grapes are harvested by hand, crushed by foot in wooden vats and fermented spontaneously in small concrete tanks. The wine is then bottled without filtration, preserving texture, energy and the character of the vintage.
The 2021 shows lemon oil, chamomile and green almond, followed by citrus pith, crushed stone and subtle earthy notes. The palate is textured and vibrant, with pronounced saline minerality, fresh acidity and a long, structured finish.
What makes this wine especially compelling is its combination of rustic tradition and precision. It is not a simple, neutral Trebbiano; the texture, mineral character and bottle-aging potential give it the depth of a serious Italian white.
Food Pairing: Pair with grilled fish, shellfish, roast chicken, pasta with clams, vegetable dishes, aged pecorino, or dishes with olive oil and fresh herbs.
Serve around 52–56°F. A short period in the glass or a gentle decant can help the wine open.
