Roux Père & Fils Santenay Les Crais 2020 comes from one of Burgundy’s long-established family domaines, based in Saint-Aubin since 1855. Today, the Roux family farms over 70 hectares across the Côte d’Or, producing a wide range of wines that balance tradition and accessibility.
Santenay, the southernmost village of the Côte de Beaune, is known for producing red wines with both structure and approachability. Les Crais is a well-regarded lieu-dit with stony soils that bring freshness and minerality to Pinot Noir.
The 2020 vintage was a warm, successful year in Burgundy, yielding concentrated yet balanced wines. This Santenay shows aromas of cherry, blackberry, and violet, with subtle notes of earth and spice. On the palate, it is supple and elegant, with fine tannins and a clean finish.
Enjoyable young for its vibrant fruit, it also has aging potential of 7–10 years, gaining more depth and complexity in bottle. A classic Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir, versatile at the table with roast chicken, charcuterie, or mushroom dishes.
