An austere and majestic cru, the prototype of Amarone, it draws its unique and instantly identifiable style from the eponymous vineyard, with its ideal Vineyard orientation and all-important altitude.
Friable hummus-rich limestone feeds the vines and gives them great personality. The grapes concentrate their aromas during the natural drying process in the drying lofts during the cold winter months. The noble austerity found in this wine is mitigated by soft tannins and velvety elegance.
Look: opaque ruby red with burnished reflections
Nose: powerful aromas of cherries preserved in spirit and plums.
Palate: majestic, with tastes of marasca cherries and blueberries. Complex aftertaste with surprising length.
