Eiswein is becoming exceedingly rare of late in Germany. The region just doesn’t get the freezes like it used to. 2016 was the first serious eiswein vintage since 2012. This estate bottling is a blend of grapes from Urziger Wurzgarten and Erdener Treppchen. Soaring aromas of apricot marmalade, fresh guava juice, kiwi and key lime. Intensely sweet on the palate but perfectly balanced by rapier sharp acidity. Flavors are focused on fresh shortbread, golden raisins, vanilla cream, all wrapped up in layers of apricot, peach, and pink grapefruit flavors.
