Pomerol makes rich and age-worthy wines and the appellation is well known for the quality of its wines, from Petrus to Chateau Le Pin.
Chateau La Conseillante is one of the oldest properties in Pomerol, with a history dating back to the middle of the 18th century. Their wine style is elegant with a velvety textured fruit.
The 2015 vintage is a blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 70% new and 30% one-year-old French oak. The wine has intense aromas of black plum and violets, and a complex palate with chocolate, tobacco and vanilla notes. The tannins are high, but very fine, and the wine has a freshness that will allow it to age for the next 20 years. We highly recommend decanting it for at least 2 hours. Pair with roasted beef or vegetables.
