After many years ageing in the unique and ancient Crayères acquired by its founder Charles Heidsieck, Brut Millésime reveals itself as a champagne poised between elegance and complexity, with a smooth texture and great length on the palate. Extended aging on the lees has unlocked the full potential of their aromas. Each vintage has its own signature, its own generous tone.
This champagne is part of Charles Heidsieck Collection Crayeres, a late release of vintages direct from their cellars in Reims. The releases are very limited quantities and a perfect chance to buy and enjoy champagne with age in its very best condition.
1990 vintage in Champagne: Despite severe frosts in the spring, the vineyards enjoyed hot weather throughout the growing cycle. Not since 1950 had the sun been so strong; grapes had never experienced so much sunlight. Just at the perfect moment, it would rain. As a result, the vine stocks, deeply rooted in the chalky soil’s water reserves, did not suffer, leading to perfectly healthy grapes at the harvest.
An opulent, rich and creamy Champagne with the vintage’s characteristic warmth at the finish.
