This fungus, known as Botrytis cinerea, affects the grapes and concentrates their sugars, resulting in a wine with rich sweetness and complex flavors. Château Cantegril Sauternes 2018 is primarily made from Sémillon grapes, which contribute to the wine's lush and opulent character. It also includes smaller proportions of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, adding to the wine's aromatic profile and overall balance. On the palate, it displays a velvety texture and a harmonious balance between the wine's sweetness and lively acidity. The flavors unfold layers of dried fruits, candied orange peel, honeyed almonds, and a hint of vanilla. The wine finishes with a lingering, honeyed sweetness. Château Cantegril Sauternes 2018 is a versatile wine that pairs exceptionally well with various desserts and cheese. It is an excellent companion to foie gras, blue cheese, crème brûlée, fruit tarts, and poached pears. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 96 points: "The 2014 Cheval Blanc is a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc and 55% Merlot, picked from 19 September until 8 October. It has a very succinct, almost understated bouquet, here a mixture of red and black fruit, cold limestone and crushed rose petals (the latter observed when the wine was in barrel). It is not a set of aromatics that go out and grab your attention, rather the sophistication creeps up on you. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin. Unlike the Deuxième Vin, there is real structure and backbone here, a gentle but insistent grip in the mouth. It errs towards black instead of red fruit, intermingling with sage and cumin, then segueing into a precise finish with a long, lingering ferrous finish (à la Pomerol!), finally a hint of oyster shell on the aftertaste. It is one of the most subtle Cheval Blancs that I have tasted in a long time, although it will doubtlessly be deceptively long lived. This is a serious Cheval Blanc for serious oenophiles."

The Chateau Clerc Milon 2015 is a crystal-clear garnet red with violet highlights. The fresh and elegant nose exudes ripe morello cherry aromas, followed by subtle notes of liquorice and toast to complete a rich and complex yet light and airy bouquet. Initially refined and silky, the palate gathers power on finely chiselled tannins wrapped in crisp flavours of red fruit, dark chocolate and dried flowers. The rich and harmonious palate leads into a stylish and succulent finish with a slightly minty freshness.

A vintage marked by frost on the 21st of April that fortunately spared several plots of slope vineyards at Yquem. Summer was warm and dry, but September was rainy. The harvest was over in three passes which brought in only a small amount of grapes, but of very good quality. This experience shows what an advantage great terroirs have when spring frosts occur. In light of the weather that year, the calibre of 1991 Yquem exceeded our expectations, and benefited from a particularly fine summer.
